Monticello School Board Unanimously Approved a Change to Start and End Times

Big News for our Monticello Community

At last night’s meeting, the Monticello School Board approved a change to start and end times for all schools in Monticello School District, beginning with the 2024-25 school year. The new times are as follows:

  • Kindergarten:  8:00 a.m. – 2:10 p.m.

  • Elementaries:  7:50 a.m. - 2:20 p.m.

  • Nature Based Education: 8:00 a.m. - 2:10 p.m.

  • Middle School: 8:15 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

  • High School: 8:15 a.m. – 2:55 p.m.

As a district, we believe this change has the power to positively impact our students of all ages and to create a better school community experience for all. Please check out this video for more highlights and thoughts on the process from a variety of community voices! Additional resources from the process are available at the conclusion of this email as well.

As noted in the video above, we fully understand that this change will also bring new challenges to a number of our families. As we move through this school year and toward the 2024-25 year, we are committed to working with the community to solve those challenges together and to make this change as seamless as possible for every family in Monticello School District.
