Community experts help create powerful Wellness Day for 7th graders
In late February, the 7th grade students at Monticello Middle School took a break from their educational routine to explore important adolescence issues at our annual Wellness Day. This year marks the 15th year of providing this powerful opportunity for students!
The day consisted of ten speakers from Monticello and the surrounding communities who presented on various topics such as cyber safety, healthy choices, using mindfulness to control anxiety, leadership & goal setting, legal consequences, alcohol and drug prevention, digital citizenship, suicide prevention, and healthy relationships. One session, courage and resiliency, built off of the Courage Retreat students participated in earlier this fall. High school students led this session focused on using courage to be resilient as they work through conflict. Students rotated in groups to all sessions throughout the day.
We would like to acknowledge the following community agencies for giving of their time and talents to educate our 7th graders:

Their expertise and partnership with our district is tremendously appreciated!
