EEC welcomes USMC for Toys for Tots presentation

Three members of the United States Marine Corps visited Eastview Education Center prior to winter break for a ceremonial Toys for Tots presentation.

SSgt. Miller, Austin Ward, and Dylan Yonak visited the reading corps room, where they accepted donations on behalf of Toys for Tots, led students in the Pledge of Allegiance, and answered questions about the service, including “How do you save people?” and “How do you get your uniform on?”

SSgt. Miller is a meteorologist, while Ward, an MHS graduate, is a helicopter mechanic stationed in California. Yonak is set to graduate from Monticello in January, and will then head to boot camp in California.

More than 40 students attended the presentation, and each one received a United States Marine Corps sticker and a piece of candy from the Marines.
