Summer Construction Updates in Monticello and Wright County

Summer Construction Updates in Monticello and Wright County

As summer construction season gets underway, Monticello Public Schools encourages families to be aware of road projects that may impact travel throughout our community. Whether you're heading to summer activities, athletic events, childcare, or other destinations, please allow extra travel time and use caution in construction zones.

Wright County's 2026 Pavement Preservation Program began the week of June 1 and includes mill-and-overlay, pavement rejuvenation, and sealcoating projects on several county roads. Drivers should expect temporary lane closures, flagging operations, and minor delays throughout the summer. Work on Highway 39 in Monticello is currently scheduled for July.

In addition to county projects, the City of Monticello has several ongoing and upcoming transportation, utility, trail, and roadway improvement projects throughout the community. The City's Projects page is a helpful resource for staying informed about construction schedules, traffic impacts, and project updates.

We encourage all families to stay informed and plan ahead when traveling this summer.
