Monticello Middle School Shines with Heartwarming Production of Annie Jr.
Monticello Middle School students lit up the stage last weekend with their lively and heartfelt performances of the beloved musical Annie Jr. With three shows full of energy, emotion, and talent, the cast and crew delivered a production that left audiences smiling.
The production was led by Theater Director Michelle Thompson, who shared her joy in guiding the students through the experience. “Helping students discover the joy of theater brings me such joy! I am immensely proud of this talented cast and crew. They worked so hard, built a wonderful community of respect and support and had fun bringing Annie Jr. to life,” she said.
Joining the production team was Middle School Choir Teacher Kristen Johnson, who praised the experience as a unique opportunity for student growth. “I am very grateful to Michelle Thompson for bringing this opportunity to the middle school students,” Johnson said. “Getting to work with the students who only get to play an instrument during the school day and watch them really blossom in their singing is so fun! I'm very proud of their growth and work ethic.”
The students embraced their roles with enthusiasm and professionalism, creating a polished performance that showcased their talents and hard work. From iconic musical numbers to the heartwarming message of hope and perseverance, Annie Jr. was a hit with the community.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the students and celebrate the arts in our schools. The success of Annie Jr. is a shining example of the power of creativity, collaboration, and community.
