Early Childhood Special Education

Special Education services are available to eligible students. Services are free to eligible families regardless of income or immigrant status. Below is a list of the different age groups.
- Infant and Toddler Early Intervention services are provided to eligible children ages birth to three and their families.
- Services are provided by the Sherburne and Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative.
- Services are provided by the Sherburne and Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative.
- Preschool Special Education services are provided to eligible children ages three to five years.
- Services are provided by Monticello district staff at Eastview Education Center.
- Services are provided by Monticello district staff at Eastview Education Center.
- Kindergarten Special Education Services are provided to eligible children in kindergarten.
- Services are provided by Monticello district staff during their kindergarten day at Eastview Education Center.
- Infant and Toddler Early Intervention services are provided to eligible children ages birth to three and their families.

My child is under the age of three and I have concerns about their development
If you have concerns about your child and they are under 3 years of age, you can make a referral through the Help Me Grow website. Your referral will be sent to appropriate early childhood special education staff within Sherburne and Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative (SNWSEC). SNWSEC provides all special education services and supports to infants and toddlers under the age of 3 within their three member districts of Becker, Big Lake, and Monticello.

I have concerns with my child who is between the ages of three and five and is not enrolled in preschool
If your child is not attending school yet and is over the age of 3, you can make a referral through the Help Me Grow website at helpmegrowmn.org or you can call Eastview Education Center and ask who you can talk to regarding your concerns. If your child has not been through early childhood screening yet, please check out their webpage on this site.

If your child is attending preschool, you can talk with your child's preschool teacher about what concerns you have. If you have already talked to your teacher and have further questions, you should contact the early childhood coordinator or the building principal.

We are moving into the Monticello area and I need to enroll my child who has an IEP into preschool
If your child is preschool age and has an Individual Education Program (IEP) from your previous district, please contact the special education coordinator at Eastview Education Center, Janelle Ortiz, to start the enrollment process and discuss your child's services. If your child is in kindergarten, you can follow the school's enrollment process and you can contact Janelle Ortiz to discuss your child and their services.
