MMS ATTENDANCE
Attendance Line = 763-272-2110Procedures
Regular attendance is directly correlated to academic achievement. Moreover, consistent school attendance is one means by which a student develops responsibility and self-discipline. It is expected that parents will support our expectations and encourage their children to have good attendance.During the MS Distance Learning model, please review the Student Attendance Check In Guidlines.
Students are expected to be at school by 7:30. If a student is not in class by 7:35, the student will be considered tardy. As a school, we are required to track and report all tardies and absences to comply with Minnesota statutes. Please understand that with a student body of over 1,000 students, well-managed attendance procedures are very important to minimize classroom interruptions and provide optimal learning conditions for all students.
Late Arrivals
Students arriving to school late should enter through the main entrance, register in the Student Center, and obtain a pass before going to class. Students arriving late are responsible to show their teachers the pass which explains their late arrival. If your child needs to leave school for an appointment during school hours, please send a brief note with your child stating date, reason, time and duration of the absence. This note should be presented prior to the absence in the Student Center in order to obtain an admit. All parent/guardian notes will stay on file in the office.
