District Advisory Committee (DAC)
The District Advisory Committee (DAC) meets 4-5 times per year in the evening from 6:00 - 8:00, generally on a Wednesday night. The committee is made up of teachers, administrators, students, and parents. The purpose of the committee is to act in an advisory role to the school board, previewing plans for curriculum development, additions, and changes in addition to advisory on locally developed standards and other major district responsibilities related to teaching and learning. The DAC committee is a state mandated committee and there are around 36 members on the team. The DAC committee is selected by the school board through an application process. The make up of the committee includes parent or community volunteers, student leaders, teachers, counselors/social workers, and administrators from a variety of content areas and buildings.
