Buildings and Grounds Department

The ISD 882 Buildings and Grounds Department is made up of 31 custodians, including site leads and night leads at each of the district buildings. Under the guidance of the Superintendent and the Director of Business Services, the department is responsible for providing quality building maintenance services for the students, staff, and community members who utilize the school district facilities. As a group, they aim to meet those needs by maintaining school buildings, grounds, turf, and outdoor facilities in a manner that provides a safe and comfortable environment which is conducive to a positive learning, teaching, and working experience.

Among other responsibilities, department staff insure building safety and the optimal performance of building systems by providing preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, building security systems and interior/exterior repairs and renovations. Operations and projects include day-to-day maintenance as well as larger-scale projects.
